Duties:
- Assist the teacher in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Provide support and assistance to students with disabilities in various academic and non-academic activities.
- Collaborate with the teacher to develop and implement instructional strategies that meet the unique needs of each student.
- Assist students with daily tasks, including personal care, mobility, and communication.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the teacher.
- Help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Support students in developing social skills and promoting positive behavior.
- Assist with classroom management and maintaining a safe learning environment.
- Collaborate with other professionals, such as speech therapists or occupational therapists, to support student development.
Requirements:
- Associates Degree
- Experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
- Knowledge of preschool or elementary education principles and practices.
- Familiarity with literacy education and math concepts.
- Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Patience, empathy, and understanding when working with students with special needs.
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and handle challenging behaviors.
- Willingness to learn and participate in professional development opportunities.

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
