Class A Yard Driver

CrossCountry Freight Solutions is hiring a Class A Yard Driver. We are looking for qualified applicants who have a safety-first mindset, work independently, and able to meet operational deadlines.

Shift: Monday-Friday (7pm-4:30am)

Pay: $31.00/hr

What you can expect a typical day to look like:

• Hook and unhook various commercial combinations for outgoing drivers
• Moving trailers to and from doors as needed
• Dropping trailers at several Fargo Customers
• Conduct pre trip and post trip vehicle inspections
• Complete all paperwork required by government regulations and company policies/procedure
• Assist the overnight supervisor in any other ways pertinent to the overall operation
• Load and unload a variety of freight on and off company/customer trailers
• Create a positive and productive work atmosphere by communicating and behaving in a professional and team-like manner with other employees and customers

What you will need to succeed on the job:

• Have a valid Class A license - preferred
• Must be able to maneuver a straight truck or tractor-trailer in difficult driving conditions
• Knowledge of DOT regulations
• Must be able to work well with others

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to frequently enter and exit the cab of a commercial vehicle.
• Must be able to safely maneuver freight/pallets weighing up to 2,500 pounds onto a dolly or cart with a force of up to 130 pounds with mechanical aid in various environments/conditions.
• Must be able to carry freight weighing up to 40 pounds for a distance of up to 20 feet.
• Must be able to hook and unhook various commercial combinations, to manually lower and raise landing gear, to operate fifth wheel release levers, to lock and release pintle-hooks, to attach and release safety chains, to open and close cargo doors, to climb into and out of vehicles, and to fuel and check oil/coolant levels of vehicles.
