Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled Class A Dump Truck Driver to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to operate a Class ADump Truck for transportation of materials, predominantly dirt, within a 50-mile radius. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating heavy-duty vehicles, adhering to DOT regulations, and safely loading and unloading equipment using a trailer. Attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Operate a Class ADump Truck to transport materials, primarily dirt, to and from designated locations within a 50-mile radius.
- Safely load and unload equipment, including heavy machinery, using a trailer attached to the Dump Truck.
- Ensure compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies while operating the Dump Truck.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safe operation and compliance with maintenance requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and deliveries made.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members to coordinate deliveries and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
- Monitor vehicle performance and report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs promptly.
- Follow designated routes and schedules to optimize efficiency and meet delivery deadlines.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding vehicle operation, safety, and maintenance.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including the interior and exterior of the Dump Truck and trailer.
Qualifications:
- Valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a Class ADump Truck Driver or similar role.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment and safely load and unload materials using a trailer.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, or overtime as needed.
- Physical strength and stamina to perform the duties of the job, including lifting and moving heavy objects.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
