Class A CDL Truck Driver (Part-Time) - Goodwill

• Part-time weekend availability.
• Valid class A CDL license with clean driving record
• Tractor trailer 2 years experience required
• NO automatic transmission restrictions.
• Local 1nd shift driver with a start time at 8:00pm
• Schedule would be Friday, Saturday, Sunday Monday
• Home every night
• $30 an hour
• Annual pay increase

This role demonstrates behaviors consistent with our Mission, Vision and Values, on behalf of Goodwill of Central & Southern Indiana.The CDL Truck Driver will travel using intercity routes to include local roads, interstates and highways. The CDL Truck Driver is responsible for the transportation of goods utilizing a tractor-trailer combination. Due to the constant contact with internal and external customers it is essential that CDL Truck Drivers provide excellent customer service displaying an "Attitude of Gratitude" in order to support the mission of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent Customer Service with an "Attitude of Gratitude."
• Load/Unload cargo and secure load as required by the Department of Transportation.
• Keep record of amount and type of cargo being delivered as well as other Department of Transportation logs.
• Conduct pre/post trip safety checks and inspections of both truck and trailer, reporting defects and mechanical problems as necessary.
• Plan travel routes effectively to ensure safety and timeliness.
• Cross-train in other departments/areas and act as back-up for other areas as required.
• Maintain forklift certification.
• Drive forklift, use pallet jack, and double stacker as needed.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• A pre-employment drug screen, background and motor vehicle report is required for this position.
• Current and Valid Commercial Driver's License required. Recommended two years of CDL truck driving experience while maintaining a safe driving record.
• Have an understanding of and closely follow the Department of Transportation rules and regulations.
• Able to read and follow maps.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs, use a dolly and pallet jack as required.
• Able to work a varied schedule that could include evenings, weekends and holidays with overtime as necessary. Able to communicate effectively with customers, managers, supervisors, staff and peers.
