POSITION SUMMARY:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
60% - Manage, assess and adjust property damage claims and related investigations, including interviewing
and corresponding with claimants and other involved persons, determining liability, documenting
findings, researching and analyzing investigative information and documents, and preparing and
supervising settlement offers and denials. Negotiate settlements with claimants, insurance companies
and attorneys and document results. Pursue subrogation and restitution on behalf of the company.

20% - Provide claim support and advice to tire centers, including receiving and documenting claim
information (property damage and minor bodily injury); investigative processes, claim reporting,
documentation, etc. Analyze and discuss liability analysis and exposure, and loss prevention, with
store managers. Create new incidents/claims in Riskonnect Claim Management System. Triage a
small number of after-hours calls as part of a weekly rotation schedule.

20% - Investigate, evaluate, negotiate and settle bodily injury claims valued up to $50,000. Collect and
review medical records from providers, recommend and hire experts/vendors to assist in claim
evaluation and related investigations. Work with attorneys to resolve injury claims and manage
litigated claims through working directly with defense counsel when necessary.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Educational/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree preferred. Minimum of 2 years property and casualty claim handling experience.
- Completion of insurance claim specific courses preferred.
Required Technical Skills/Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of automotive design, function and repair (i.e., brake, alignment, suspension).
- Advanced understanding of legal liability principles and litigation processes as they relate to property and casualty claims.
- Excellent understanding of medical terminology, medical management, injury causation, and treatment practice.
- Advanced knowledge of the risk management information system (STARS) and intermediate knowledge of MS Word.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Frequent sitting and fingering; ability to move around and between offices;
occasional lifting (20-30 pds).
WORK ENVIRONMENT: office/non-manual.
