Job Opportunity:

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance has an exciting opportunity for a Claims Recovery Specialist in our Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Houston or New York Offices. This role is responsible to manage subrogation and salvage recoveries, and recovery reporting for our North America claims group.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct investigations of claims to determine if recovery opportunities exist,
• Gather information necessary to support viable recovery claims,
• Directly notify parties of recovery opportunities and manage pursuit of potential recoveries,
• Assign and manage counsel with respect to litigated matters,
• Manage a reporting platform capturing subrogation opportunities and recoveries,
• Conduct Claim Quality Reviews on Property & Marine Claims

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

• College degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 7 years of Commercial Property, and/or Marine claim handling experience, including a minimum of 3 years of Claims Recovery experience.
• Experience handling international claims preferred, but not required.
• Excellent interpersonal communications and negotiation skills
• Highly organized individual with demonstrated experience handling a mature caseload
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
• Active adjuster licenses in multiple jurisdictions preferred.

The base salary range for this position is from $80,000.00 to $90,000.00, along with annual bonus eligibility; a candidate’s salary is determined by their relevant skills and experience. We value our teammates – both their capabilities and character – as demonstrated by our amazing culture.
