Role Overview
Fisker Inc. is looking for a passionate Claims Specialist to join our growing team. Reporting to Sr. Manager, Vehicle Logistics, the ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating claims management, working with insurance policies, communicating with 3PL service providers and internal stakeholders and developing/maintaining operational procedures while leading initiatives to enhance service levels and KPIs. In addition, this role will be tasked with performing quality audits to ensure identified damages trends are reduced/eliminated.
Responsibilities
  • Manage and review damage reports and evaluate liability and coverage.
  • Lead claims dispute resolution with liable parties including negotiations and settlement within Claim Procedure.
  • Ensure that inspection data is fully collected, submitted timely, and in the correct format at each point in the logistics chain.
  • Research and obtain supporting documentation and make determination on the best course of resolution.
  • Coordinate the repair process to meet company quality standards.
  • File claims against liable parties and ensure all claims are successfully resolved on time.
  • Follow up on claims payment status with liable parties and insurance companies.
  • Correspond with the insured or their agent to obtain information or inform them of account status or changes.
  • Oversee damage claims caused by third party providers and provide trends and recommendations to improve the performance. (Roll On/Roll Off Vessel [RORO], Port Processing and Transportation)
  • Verify and analyze data used in settling claims to ensure that claims are valid and that settlements are made according to company standards and procedures.

  • Contribute to the decision of third-party inspection if necessary.
  • Arrange for expert inspections involving third party to investigate damage liability.
  • Update files and provide comprehensive reports as required.
  • Monthly (or weekly) distribution and reconciliation of open claims
  • Monitor vendors' performance on claims by publishing metrics on the rate of loss and damage occurrence and rate of claim recovery occurrence through a KPI dashboard.
  • Identify trends in loss/damage, root causes and status updates and propose solutions to resolve and prevent repeated claims issues.
  • Gather and interpret data to determine common damages or offending parties. Provide management with recommendations on how to reduce damage trends.
  • Assist with developing and maintaining quality procedures regarding the handling of vehicles in Port Operations and Transportation (RORO, Rail and Truck)
  • Perform quality audits on service providers to ensure compliance with Fisker guidelines.
  • Based on audit findings, create action items and ensure proper resolution of each action item.
  • Contribute to the Fisker Quality and Handling Guidelines document.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and assist with quality improvement and ad hoc projects.

Basic Qualifications / Knowledge / Experience
  • Degree in logistics, supply chain management, or operations
  • Multi-cultural interpersonal, written and oral communication skills in English, preferred language skills in German
  • Prior experience (5-6 years) of working in logistics/supply chain/ transportation function within the automotive or manufacturing environment with comprehensive knowledge of logistics, vehicle handlings standards, and claims processes.
  • Deep knowledge of principles of transporting finished vehicle by any mode.
  • Experience working with insurance policies and providers.

  • IT systems experience and skills including knowledge and understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and customer data systems.
  • Advanced skills of MS Office applications, specifically, Excel
  • Well organized, strong attention to detail, advanced analytical and problem-solving skills as well as a proactive mindset.
  • Ability to make accurate assessments based upon common industry practice, vendor contractual obligations, and company policies.
  • Knowledge of Finished Vehicle Logistics, insurance and claims.
  • Experience with AIAG quality standards as well as claims management
  • Strong negotiation skills.

Additional Requirements
  • Must be willing to travel both domestically, as well as internationally, as required

Expected Salary Range: $57,575 - $94,588
Additional Compensation : Salary is one part of total compensation which includes bonuses, equity awards as applicable, and benefits. An employee is eligible to participate in Fisker's equity program, subject to the rules governing such programs.
Benefits : Fisker provides comprehensive medical, prescription, dental, vision, and disability insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Fisker covers most of the premiums for employees.
The salary offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including market location, job-related knowledge, education/training, certifications, key skills, experience, internal peer equity as well as business considerations. Fisker reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position within the salary range listed, taking into account the wide variety of factors listed above.
