Responsibilities & Qualifications
In this Role:
- Conduct an initial interview to obtain necessary details of claim exposure including description of the injury, lost time, and information about how the injury occurred.
- Communicate with employers, health care providers, injured workers, attorneys, insurance agents and DWC to obtain additional information needed to establish new claims from potential first notice of injury documents.
- Review and document information received by phone, fax, mail and email into the claims system and maintain diary notes to ensure completion of the assignment.
- Identify claim types, including catastrophic, lost time, medical and other states claim, for system routing to the appropriate department for assignment.
- Communicate with the employer and/or injured worker regarding any changes to the claim.
- Review information received from the provider regarding care of the injured worker and, closing the claim when the provider communicates that no additional treatment is needed.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Zero to 2+ years of customer service, call center, or insurance industry experience.
- Minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute.
- Current Texas Workers' compensation or all-lines adjuster license OR complete a self-study course to obtain all lines license within 180 days from the date of hire.
