Claims Analyst

Are you detailed oriented with experience in the healthcare space? Do you have a passion for working in a dynamic, ever changing team? VitalSkin Dermatology is currently seeking a Claims Analyst to join our Revenue Cycle Team.

We will consider entry level candidates with some healthcare or claims experience in the Urbana, IL market.

The role will be responsible for analyzing, processing and following up on patient charges and collections. Specific responsibilities include:

• Greets and courteously responds to callers’ questions and concerns, process customer inquiries professionally and timely.
• Maintains a high level of customer service with patients and their family members, staff, and providers.
• Accurately obtains patient health plan information.
• Claim Follow Up per policy and procedure
• Appeals and denials of claims per policy and procedure
• Collections processing per policy and procedure
• Demonstrate and promote a spirit of teamwork and cooperation
• Resolves coding edits within 24 hours and searches for long-term solutions
• Reviews and corrects any errors or missing information on electronic claims, attaches necessary documentation
• Keeps abreast of coding and reimbursement changes
• Demonstrates and promote a spirit of teamwork and cooperation
• Tracks and reports ongoing issues with coding and documentation as discovered

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1+ years experience in working in a physician’s office in a similar position working revenue cycle management duties.
• Must be able to read and interpret an Explanation of Benefits
• Ability to take initiative and work with a high level of organization, excellent time-management, problem-prevention, and problem-solving skills
• Stellar communication skills with the ability to effectively work with individuals and groups inside and outside of the organization; ability to work independently and as part of a team and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree
• Certified Biller
• Experience Billing & Collecting for Dermatology Services
