The successful intern will be responsible for providing engineering support to our civil and water/wastewater design group. These groups provide design engineering and construction management services for surrounding municipalities in Michigan and also other locations across the US. Typical projects include a wide variety of municipal and private projects, including water and wastewater treatment, storm water, grading, sewer, water analysis and evaluation of regulations.

Your role:
- Planning and design of water and wastewater treatment systems.
- Assist in design and permitting of projects
- Perform conceptual and detailed design and hydraulic calculations and analyses of pumping and treatment systems
- Assist in preparation of detailed engineering reports and supporting documents
- Interface with other engineering disciplines locally and across the nation.
- Plan, coordinate and execute work in a safe, timely, cost effective and compliant manner
- Provide onsite resident engineer responsibilities during the construction of projects to ensure contract design and specifications are being followed
- Perform site visits to collect samples and investigate systems
Qualifications:
- Course experience in engineering principals, hydraulics, and treatment processes
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
- Third or fourth year student enrolled in Bachelor's degree program
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
