Our internship program focuses on creating opportunities for our Student Interns to hone their skills and gain valuable real-life experience.

Program Highlights:
- Hands-on Project Engagement: Dive into the heart of our active projects and gain practical experience working on real challenges within our organization. Your contributions will make a tangible impact as you apply your skills and learn in a real-world setting. Our Mechanical Engineering interns will work alongside and in collaboration with the project team and professional engineers to develop high quality design and documents or drawings. The internship provides hands-on training in mechanical engineering techniques, procedures, and practices.
- Intern Group Project: Collaborate with a diverse group of interns across multiple disciplines on a comprehensive project designed to foster teamwork, communication, and innovative problem-solving. This collective effort ensures a rich learning environment where ideas flow freely, and knowledge is shared among peers.
- Engagement with Technical and Sustainability Committees: Be at the forefront of innovation! Contribute to projects that are shaping the future of our organization. From emerging technologies to sustainability initiatives, this internship will expose you to the current challenges and cutting-edge developments in the industry.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform basic Civil Engineering assignments with oversight and direction from a staff mentor or professional engineer.
- Prepare and modify engineering documents by utilizing Civil 3D at the direction of project staff.
- Collaborate with project team to solve technical and design problems in line with SMRT standards.
- Prepare 2D/3D presentations and design drawings.
- Attend client meetings and/or site visits alongside project staff.
- Gather existing condition information in the field and translate them to drawings.
- Review documents for QA/QC
- Review submittals as part of construction administration services.
- Currently enrolled in an Associate, Bachelor of Science or Master Civil Engineering degree program.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite
- Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Ability to communicate and collaborate in a team environment
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
