The primary objective of this position is to assist the various aspects of the engineering department on a variety of projects related to construction inspection, traffic, mapping, data collection, streets, utilities and sidewalks. This is a seasonal summer position (40 hour work week preferred).
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assists with the inspection of construction projects including streets, water main, sanitary sewer, storm drainage systems
and sidewalks.
- Inspection and data inventory for the city's storm sewer system.
- Assists with traffic data collection.
- Assists engineering staff with geographical information systems (GIS) mapping.
- GPS survey data collection.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university/technical Civil Engineering program.
Desirable Job Qualifications:
Minimum of one year completed in an accredited college/university/technical Civil Engineering program.
Experience in some aspects of GIS and GPS mapping.
Experience with storm water/storm sewer utility systems.
