Position Summary:
Castle Contracting, Inc, is seeking a talented Civil Design Manager to join our growing Civil Design-Build team. This is a unique opportunity for a forward-thinking civil engineering manager to support the work Castle Contracting is doing to revolutionize Civil Design and construction through design-build. The Design Manager will manage some of the most exciting and interesting site development projects in the region. The Design Manager will have the opportunity to work closely with construction partners and clients to deliver better civil construction projects. The team works collaboratively to identify challenges and risks earlier in the design process and with construction partners to find solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and define scope, price, and schedule for civil site design
- Manage project schedule, deadlines and deliverables to ensure successful design completion
- Effectively communicate design support needs and timelines to engineering team
- Coordinate with client and other design partners to deliver excellent project experience
- Produce design drawings using Civil 3D software
- Use stormwater modeling software to analyze detention, retention, and storm sewers
- Draft plans and detailed drawings for projects including site layout, grading plans, stormwater management, utilities, etc.
- Research and produce project related data and reports as needed
- Leverage knowledge of local AHJs to inform design requirements
- Complete Applications and Submittals to AHJs
- Perform field inspections, gather measurements and data as-needed
- Deliver thorough Construction Administration services
- Collaborate with construction teams and subsurface utility mapping teams to deliver exceptional client results
Qualifications:
- Licensed Professional Engineer or EIT (preferred but not required)
- 5+ years of experience in Civil Site Design (i.e.)
- Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D; 3D modeling, corridors, assemblies, alignments, profiles, pipe networks, etc.
- Water quality design software
- AutoTurn software
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Works well in a collaborative team environment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Process-oriented
- Proven experience working in the design phase of a project
