Job description

We are seeking a Cisco Voice Architect! In this role you will provide architecture direction, including design and implementation, for Cisco Voice applications and infrastructure. This role will assist with developing long and short-term strategic solutions and will partner with Cisco Engineers to define, plan, and maintain our enterprise-wide Cisco voice environment.

 

This position is open to remote/work from home with strong preference for candidates residing within the UPH geographies of Iowa, Illinois, & Wisconsin. 

 

Will require travel to our UnityPoint Health markets, based on projects.

What are team member vaccine requirements?

  • Develop and review technology solutions with designs that support enterprise voice roadmaps
  • Drive implementation of new initiatives and provide technical guidance for UC team members
  • Provide oversight and direction for industry best practices to include technical standards and supporting documentation.
  • Identify optimization opportunities and drive service improvements leveraging root-cause analysis
  • Provide ongoing reports to leadership regarding the general health of the environment and recommendations to address
  • Conducts research on emerging voice technologies in support of infrastructure development efforts and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and infrastructure stability and flexibility.
  • Maintains quality assurance and change management functions for Cisco voice applications/systems
  • Delegate tasks in support of projects and system implementation activities to Cisco Engineers and Cisco Administrators

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications or Networking or equivalent work experience. Preferred: The following Cisco Certifications – CCNA collaboration, CCNP Collaboration

Experience: 

  • 5+ years’ experience with Cisco Voice; (CUCM, CUC, UCCX, UCCE). Experience with Cisco SME, and functional knowledge of Call Recording solutions
  • Advanced understanding of SIP, MGCP, SCCP, and other voice related protocols.
  • Experience developing and maintaining an enterprise dial-plan
  • Experience designing and implementing centralized voice solutions for enterprise sized deployments
  • Experience implementing Cisco Voice standards in accordance with best practices as outlined by Cisco
  • Experience implementing/deploying CER (Cisco Emergency Responder)
  • Experience serving in a technical lead role for enterprise sized systems

Knowlege/Skills/Abilities:

  • Possesses excellent writing and verbal communications. Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Ability to work as a team member, creating and maintaining effective working relationships. Requires highly developed communications and negotiation skills to effectively work with all levels of management throughout the UnityPoint Health, its subsidiaries and affiliates. Capable of resolving uncertainty and setting direction Able to negotiate and set priorities
