The Engineer-I Network Planning must have the experience on how to design switched, special, and facility network infrastructure. This individual will help in ensuring accuracy between our network inventories and field equipment. Evaluate network issues and apply solutions by adhering to and applying standard network engineering principles, techniques/procedures, and criteria while using judgment and adapting non-standard problems on the network. The Integrity Engineer will be responsible for selecting appropriate techniques and procedures in collaboration with other organizations in order to provide proper instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features, and best possible solutions.
Responsibilities
- Evaluates, selects and applies standard network engineering techniques for non-standard requirements. Ensure collaboration in order to minimize customer pain and maximize network efficiency is part of the solution selection process.
- Designs and coordinates highly complex network components supporting network implementation activities. Performs complex future worth economic selection studies.
- Develops and evaluates highly complex network performance criteria and measurement methods. Devises highly complex alternative routing scenarios and changes in required sequence network activities.
- Evaluates, plans, and implements work activities in area of responsibility to achieve departmental objectives.
- Implements new approaches within area of responsibility in order to streamline processes and increase productivity. Always seeks process improvements and efficiencies.
Requirements
- Expert knowledge of network/customer circuit design and Metasolv M4, M5, M6, or F&E. Minimum of 5 years network/customer circuit design experience.
- Computer Skills Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Spreadsheets, DBs, Word Processing, Visio.
- Vendor CFA build-out and validation
- Network+ certified
- ASR/LSR provisioning knowledge
- Familiar with OBF ordering guidelines
- Switched ordering experience
- Cisco Certified Design Associate or equivalent knowledge.
- College degree in Engineering or a related field and 0-2 years professional level experience; or 5+ years professional level related Engineering/Technical experience; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related Engineering/Technical experience required
