Job Title: Ciena Certified Technician - Deployment Services - 6500
Location: Multiple Jobs – All over USA
Scope:
Shelf Kits:
Kit 8N0-PRMU-F is used for the first at a site when deploying to Install and Turn-up
Kit 8N0-PRMU-xxA is used for additional at a site.
Shelf Kits Contain:
Site Engineering (Partner):
Ciena specialists will work with the customer to ensure site readiness by performing a Remote Site Survey with the help of customer on-site personell. The output of the Site Survey will be the Installation Documentation Package (IDP).
Including:
IRM List.
Rack face layout, showing rack position and sub-rack arrangement.
Cable running list.
Labeling information.
Installation (Partner)
Ciena will perform installation activities for the Ciena 6500 including:
Confirm delivery of equipment.
Unpack and check equipment.
Inspects for visible damage or defects.
Completes a materials inventory of the network equipment to be installed.
Mount shelves in existing customers or Ciena provided and installed 19-inch or 23-inch frame.
Assemble and secure equipment, interconnect network elements and route cables.
Verify basic functionality of the network element as recommended by CTP procedures.
Install and connect Ciena-supplied cables within the frame.
Turn-up and Test (Partner):
Ciena will turn-up and test the Ciena 6500 to a ready-for-use condition, by executing:
Nodal commissioning
Commission and test the network elements and circuit packs in accordance with the technical publications and solution design, IDP+DND.
Ensure the proper software is loaded on the network element.
Verify valid signals for equipped and in-service cabled ports and if applicable verify ESI.
Site Integration.
Implement system level provisioning and ensure connectivity between network elements.
Prepare Sites/network for testing.
Implement system level testing as documented in the technical publications.
Implement the test plan.
Ensure proper alarm clearing and stability of the network.
Capture, analyze and report test results.
Installation Related Material (Partner):
Will include consumable materials related to the installation of the equipment.
Consumables related to the proper, labeling, tying, dressing, grounding and cabling within bay/frame as well as in frame line fibers between the Line system.
