This position is flexible for the right candidate. Ideally we are looking for a motivated person who is passionate about pastry and chocolate that is excited to work in the hands-on, dynamic atmosphere of an artisan kitchen. We do not necessarily expect you to know or be familiar with all facets of this position from the get-go but you must possess a thirst for knowledge and a desire to continuously improve. You must be self-motivated. Bouchée Confections is growing rapidly and we hope to find someone that is excited to grow with us.
Responsibilities:
- Produce petits gateaux/pastries and/or chocolates following recipes and methods to ensure that they meet our high quality standards.
- Collaborate with Chef/Owner to coordinate, plan, and organize pastry and chocolate production and plan adjustments to menus and product lines.
- Ensure that all food products are handled, stored, and prepared safely and in accordance with food safety guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of ingredients, tools, and equipment.
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring ingredient levels and adding to order list if needed.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in pastry or chocolate focused kitchen or completed pastry school education.
- Strong work ethic and efficient work habits.
- Strong knowledge of pastry techniques and ability to follow recipes accurately.
- Innate desire to continuously improve and learn.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality products consistently.
- Excellent ability to learn and master new techniques.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for handling and storing food products.
- Proficiency in using culinary tools and equipment, including knives, mixers, ovens, etc.
