Chocolate Unloader - 2nd Shift

Summary:

The Chocolate Unloader is responsible for receiving the chocolate, oil and sugar deliveries. Loading transfers to other Palmer buildings and on occasions outbound deliveries to other companies. All the mentioned duties will follow R.M. Palmer Co. policies and SOP’s.

Essential Functions/Duties:

· Coordinates and completes paperwork for scheduled deliveries of chocolate, sugar and oil.

· Unloads chocolate, sugar and oil deliveries and completes all paperwork and processes necessary for unloading. Assists the driver with proper tanker hookup and scraping procedures.

· Complete the loading of outbound deliveries to the other R.M. Palmer Co buildings and on some occasions send product to other companies.

· Performs shift inventory, measures amounts in holding tanks and measures amount in sugar silo.

· Maintains and orders all supplies in the required areas. This includes trucking seals.

· Reads and signs the communication log on a daily basis. Leave notes to other shifts concerning future deliveries and required duties. Reads emails in beginning of shift from last shift worked til present.

· Completes all required daily, weekly, and scheduled sanitation requirements and forms.

· Follows proper GMP, SOP and all company policies related to receiving and unloading trucks.

· Adds PGPR to specified Dove deliveries to maintain a required viscosity as specified by the SOP.

· Maintains tank packing and strainers on a weekly basis and completes required forms.

· Samples all chocolate deliveries, makes sample blocks, conducts tests for viscosity, taste, look, and smell. Completes lab samples and forms as necessary.

· Performs changeovers from dark to white coatings or after peanut butter transfers on the transfer outbound pump and line.

· Shoots pipeline bullets using pressurized air to chocolate and oil tanks after every delivery.

· Samples powder, peanut butter and caramel deliveries for Silliker lab tests. Completes all necessary forms to the lab and Bldg. 1 retained sample storage.

· Removes trash and dirty rags from the related process areas.

· Refills clean rags, detergent and sanitizer containers as needed.

· Assists or completes the tank scraping procedure as required for production changeover

· Perform job duties as assigned by a Supervisor, Lead person or member of management.

Job Qualification Requirements

Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to follow instructions. Basic computer knowledge helpful.

Experience:

Previous experience helpful but not required. On the job training provided.

Machines, Tools & Equipment (Office & Industrial), Software:

Computer, viscometer, micrometer, copy machine, telephone and basic use of hand tools.

Physical Activities/Requirements/Conditions:

The ability to tolerate working in temperatures of 90 degrees and above on a regular basis. Lifting 25 to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Working at heights of 10 feet and above.
