CHOCOLATE FACTORY ASSISTANT

Escazu Chocolates is a bean-to-bar Chocolate Factory and retail storefront that has been in business since 2008. Our process is extremely hands on, and we have worked and continue to work with a small team of dedicated people. Everyone here learns everything about the chocolate making process and understands that there is no small job - every step is essential to producing a high quality finished product. THIS IS YOU

You probably have no experience working in bean to bar chocolate production, but the world of craft foods is where you’re meant to be. The process of making chocolate fascinates you and you are interested in learning everything about it from sorting beans to wrapping bars. You can be organized and enjoy working with your hands. A self-motivated learner, you actively seek out new experiences and opportunities to learn new things.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Chopping chocolate for confections
• Scraping and polishing chocolate molds
• Freezing ice cream into our signature push-pops and ice cream sandwiches
• Wrapping & foiling chocolate bars and chocolate tiles
• Bean processing - sorting, winnowing, sifting
• Dishwashing and workspace upkeep
• Miscellaneous tasks as needed

SCHEDULE

This is a 30-40 hr/week position, working 4-5 days per week between Monday and Friday.
