Gain fulfillment working for a program that benefits families to assist in the early education of young children. PennCares is a non-profit agency providing services to children and adults with special needs. We are hiring a teacher assistant for the upcoming 2024/2025 school year, to assist the lead teacher in an inclusive early learning classroom for children of all abilities 2-4 years of age. The position would start over the summer with part time training hours, and full time hours would start in September in coordination with the beginning of the school year.
Responsibilities include:
· Assume classroom leadership role in absence of Lead Teacher
· Prepare the classroom environment for daily activities
· Assist Teacher in preparing daily classroom activities
· Clean up and wash toys as needed
· Be knowledgeable of each child’s needs and strengths
Schedule:
Weekday Afternoons 11:30am to 3:30pm
Education:
High School Diploma
Experience (preferred):
At least 1 year of experience working with young children with special needs
Work Location: Hanover, PA
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 per week
