Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
· Attends to children at childcare institution within a church setting
· Instructs preschool-aged children in activities designed to promote intellectual, social, physical and spiritual growth
Available to work Tuesday - Friday 9am-4:30pm (option to leave early Wednesdays)
Available to work kids class during church services Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Creates developmentally appropriate lesson plans.
- Prepares materials and classrooms for class activities.
- Organizes and leads activities designed to promote development, such as games, arts and crafts, music and storytelling.
- Organizes and participates in recreational activities and outings.
- Maintains a safe play environment.
- Sanitizes toys and play equipment.
- Dresses children and changes diapers.
- Facilitate snack and meal time.
- Observes and monitors children’s play activities.
- Disciplines children and recommends or initiates other measures to control behavior, such as caring for own clothing and picking up toys and books.
- There is to be no physical discipline. Only positive reinforcement and redirection of children.
- Communicates with children’s parents or guardians about daily activities, behaviors, and related issues.
- Observes and evaluates children's performance, behavior and social development.
- Performs general administrative tasks, such as checking in/out children and making phone calls.
- Dress accordingly; no offensive or provocative clothing and comfortable safe footwear

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Experience:
o High School Diploma or Equivalent
o CPR Certification
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
o Excellent communication skills
o Self-Motivated
o Problem Solver
o Detail oriented, organized
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
o Able to lift 30 lbs
o Able to stand and walk for 8 or more hours per day
o Able to squat, kneel and bend for 8or more hours per day
TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS:
o Ability to prioritize duties, as needed
o Ability to give clear direction to children
o Ability to follow directions as given by Manager

o Must be actively attending church
o Must work well with others, as a team and according to Romans 16:17, must not cause dissension and division
o Must maintain a good attendance record
o Adheres to a Christian lifestyle conducive to biblical standards
