The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The hourly range for this position is $21.47/hour - $32.21/hour. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include, but are not limited to:

Location
The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site, as needed. In this position, you can expect to work on-site at the
Richard T. Castro Building (1200 N. Federal Blvd.)
3 days (24 working hours) per week. One in-office day must fall on a Wednesday. Staff are permitted to work remotely 2 days (16 working hours) per week. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.

The
Child Support Services (CSS)
Division of Denver Human Services is currently seeking highly skilled applicants for the position of Child Support Establishment Assistant. CSS works to promote parental responsibility so that children receive support from both parents, even when they live in separate households. Child support makes a big difference to children, and we strive to provide family centered services that incorporate innovative strategies that improve the reliability of Child Support payments.
Specifically, as a Child Support Establishment Assistant you will:
  • Work closely with families, City Attorneys, and the judicial system to help establish Child Support orders by completing the correct documentation for court filings
  • Send court filings out for service of process and monitor the outcome of service
  • Perform research and investigative work to collect necessary information and documentation
  • Review court orders and minutes and drafts “Entry of Appearance” notices, as necessary
  • Respond to a variety of questions, explain policies, procedures, and processes, and provide Child Support related information to various stakeholders
  • Enter and maintain client records in various databases ranging from updating demographic information to posting Child Support orders
  • Participate in community outreach events and/or work in alternate city locations dependent on the business need
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested

Required Minimum Qualifications
  • Education requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
  • Experience Requirement: Four (4) years of experience performing office support work.
  • Education/Experience Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirement.
