Full Time Lead Teacher
We are looking for two enthusiastic, qualified lead teachers for our 1 year old classroom and our 2 year old classroom. These are full time positions, Monday-Friday. St. Luke's CLM is a faith-based, non-profit childcare, private preschool, and public 4K group center. Our benefits include free and discounted childcare, generous PTO, and friendly work environment!
Qualified Applicants will have:
Registry Level 9 or higher
A minimum of 1 year experience in childcare or other early childhood experience
CPR and First Aid certified
Passion for early childhood
The ability to relate to children with joy and sensitivity
The physical strength and stamina to work with young children
The emotional stability and maturity to relate well with both children and adults
Responsibilities:
- Plan, schedule, and implement the daily program of appropriate developmental experiences for a group of children, including religious education and cultural diversity
- Plan, schedule, and implement individual activities to promote the growth and development of each individual child
- Encourage Christian values and introduce religion
- Be prepared and ready to work in classroom at scheduled time
- Understands state licensing regulations and center policies and procedures
- Provide a safe and nurturing classroom environment that is orderly, clean, appealing and conducive to learning, exploration, and growth according to Young Star standards
- Supervise children’s play/work activities by participating with children in group games, enforcing safety rules, encouraging children to develop positive social relationships with each other, and acting as a facilitator in individual or small group learning activities/centers
- Establish and maintain good communication with parents through monthly newsletters detailing upcoming units, events, field trips, etc. and by daily verbal and/or written communication
- Treat children with dignity and respect, and implement appropriate and positive guidance strategies that ensures safety and fosters the development of children’s self-esteem
- Assist children with eating, dressing and toileting needs, while encouraging independence & self-help skills
- Maintain a positive, professional attitude while working with children, parents, staff, supervisors, visitors, and prospective students
- Attend monthly staff meetings and comply with the Continuing Education Policies
- Protect the confidentiality of staff, children and families
- Maintain assessments on the emotional, social and cognitive development of each individual child
- Create and maintain portfolios for all children enrolled more than 50% of the center’s operating hours
- Conduct parent/teacher conferences twice a year or more frequently, as warranted
- Interact with children and encourage their involvement in all activities
- Maintain a current CPR and First Aid certification
- Perform related housekeeping task and maintenance duties including daily sign in sheets, binders, medication/incident books, playground sheets, cleaning tables, sweeping, wiping spills, cleaning toys and shelves, etc.
- Assist in supervision, encouragement and development of assistant teachers, volunteers, or student teachers working the classroom.
