Job Description
Seeking a Childcare Teacher to join a team of center based daycare teachers! This individual will plan and present age appropriate activities for children on a daily basis as well as instruct assistant staff.
Responsibilities:
- Instruct infant to preschool aged children in activities designed to promote intellectual and creative growth
- Create a fun, safe, and healthy learning environment following all KDHE and partner requirements
- Provide general care for children such as feeding, diapering, potty training, and comfort for napping
- Follow schedules and routines to ensure adequate physical activity, rest, and playtime
- Train Assistant Teachers on all responsibilities as well as Curriculum and guidance methods
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with students and parents
- Communicate with parents on students' growth and progress daily as well as during conferences
- Create lesson plans that follow Creative Curriculum
- Track development of child's growth and progress in learning
- Maintain positive relationships with various resource agencies
Qualifications:
- Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate preferred
- Previous experience in childcare, teaching, medical, or other related fields preferred
- Knowledge of KDHE licensing, CACFP food program, curriculum based methods, and positive discipline methods preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must pass KBI background check required by KDHE licensing
- Must complete training prior to engaging in classroom responsibilities
