The Learning Experience is hiring at our center in Plainview, NY! We are currently looking for a food preparer for our warming pantry. Responsibilities will include preparing and delivering daily snacks and lunch to the classrooms, preparing food order lists, completing kitchen inventory, cleaning kitchen and kitchen supplies, ensuring allergies are known and allergen safety is maintained, other duties as needed. Must be willing to also work with children in classrooms as assistant teacher when needed.
Must be fun, bright, and loving to educate and care for children ages 6 weeks through 12 years old. You will have the opportunity to impact the lives of the children in their care. Cooks are responsible for providing warm, nutritious meals to the children and managing all allergies and special dietary restrictions per parents requests. The cook is also responsible for ordering and inventory.

Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
*Food managers certificate (can obtain after hiring, will discuss further)
1-5 years of childcare experience
Satisfy the mandatory physical and background checks as required by state and company regulations. CPR
Be of sufficient physical, mental and emotional health to perform job duties satisfactorily
Possess skills, attributes and characteristics conducive to and suitable for dealing with children
Must speak English well enough to communicate with children, staff, management, and parents
Must be able to read and write English well enough to prepare, complete, and maintain administrative forms and records as required by current governmental regulations, company policies, and procedures.
Must have a positive attitude and be a team player!
Knowledge of child growth and development
Willing to attend staff/parent events and complete training classes as required by state regulations
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
