Job Description

Soar Autism Center is building a network of interdisciplinary clinics where children with autism and their families receive life-shaping services that support them to thrive. We prioritize early intervention, comprehensive supportive services, and positive, developmentally-appropriate learning that meets the needs of each unique child and family. Specifically, we focus on integrated autism care and a play-based model of applied behavior analysis (ABA) based on the principles of the Early Start Denver Model.

A Behavior Technician (BT), also known as a Registered Behavior Technician, Behavioral Health Technician, RBT, or ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) Therapist, works 1:1 with young children on the autism spectrum to support skill development, under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and in partnership with our speech and occupational therapy teams. This is a unique opportunity to engage in mission-driven work and build a career that supports young children with autism spectrum disorder. Join us as we help them to soar!

You do not need to be certified for this position; our training team will support you through the process of becoming a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) through the BACB.

What You'll Do

  • Provide 1:1 direct intervention for children 2-6 years old in a center-based setting based on developmentally appropriate, naturalistic ABA therapy

  • Follow the intervention plans developed by clinicians in the fields of Behavior Analysts, Speech, and Occupational Therapy

  • Collaborate with each client’s team of Behavior Technicians, SLPs, and OTs to provide high quality support for your clients

  • Work closely with the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) team to provide continuity of care between providers

  • Actively engage in ongoing training and professional development opportunities

  • Build relationships and connect with mentors in a wide variety of fields

  • Build meaningful and professional relationships with families; communicate and share progress with them on a regular basis

  • Receive ongoing feedback, coaching and professional development from your BCBA to improve and grow your practice and skills

What's In It For You

  • Quality health insurance: medical, dental and vision plans

  • A company 401k with employer match after 1 year of employment

  • Paid time off: 10 company holidays for full-time employees + 15 paid time off days for vacation or sick time (following 3-6 months of tenure)

  • Unlimited unpaid, planned time off

  • A “Time for You” program to take extra time off work when you need it

  • Short term disability

  • Clinic hours: Monday - Friday (8:00 - 6:00 pm), no weekend shifts

  • 30 hours per week guaranteed for full-time employees. Most full-time RBTs work 32-38 hours per week.

  • A clinic-based setting with hands-on support from masters and doctoral-level clinicians

  • Implement a play-based form of ABA. You’ll practice the most evidence-based form of ABA for young children, the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM)

  • A culture that cares about you and your growth! Shout outs, boo-yahs, and staff appreciations for your hard work!

  • Bi-monthly staff lunches

  • A supportive team environment that is deeply invested in quality care for kids

Career Progression

  • Soar Frontiers Program: Opportunities for career exploration in Behavior Analysis, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, and other roles

  • RBT Certification

  • Opportunity for raises and/or promotions every 3-6 months

  • Opportunity to apply for other roles within Soar (i.e. Operations, Scheduling, Intake, Administration, etc.)

  • Professional development days for all Soar staff twice a year

  • Free fieldwork supervision for aspiring BCBAs

  • Clinical Placement available for SLP and OT graduate students

What You Have
