Job Description
New Life Center is seeking individuals who are passionate Child Advocates and is interested in joining the New Life Center team working with children and youth survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and human trafficking. The Child Advocates are an integral part of the Residential Department's Children's Program at New Life Center. **Full-Time** Tuesday through Saturday 11am - 8pm
JOB SUMMARY:
The Child Advocate is responsible for providing trauma-informed support services for children and adolescents residing within New Life Center's Emergency Shelter program. This position works closely with the Child Case Manager and Lead Advocate to improve the quality of life and resiliency of children and their families who received services from New Life Center. The Child Advocate position upholds New Life Center's mission, vision, and core values of compassion, resilience, equity, and community.
What You Will Do:
- Facilitate high-quality and trauma-informed support services and advocacy to children of survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and human trafficking in New Life Center's Residential Department.
- Provide culturally and linguistically relevant services to all children/youth and their families, including women, men, children, LGBTQ+, and survivors of diverse ethnic, racial, and cultural backgrounds.
- Collaborate with others across the agency to assist in increasing the resiliency, and bond of children and families at New Life Center.
- Be a passionate advocate for New Life Center's mission, vision, and core values of compassion, resilience, equity, and community.
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1 or more years of experience within a human trafficking, domestic violence, and/or sexual violence program/agency.
- Valid Arizona driver's license or state-issued identification.
- Currently possess, or ability to successfully obtain Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance**
- Successful completion of an FBI National background check**
- CPR/1st Aid Certified. **
- Negative TB test is required. **
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption **
**If necessary, New Life Center will complete these areas of qualification during the onboarding process.
PREFERRED
- Bachelor's or master's degree in social work, women and gender studies, social justice, counseling, or a related field.
- 1 or more years of experience working with victim's domestic violence, sexual assault, and/or human trafficking.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish.
