Chief Strategy Officer (Cso)

Position Summary

The Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) is responsible for developing and implementing the overall strategy for an organization by working with the Board of Directors and the Executive Management Team to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans and policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Developing a long-term strategic plan and strategy by collaborating with the leadership team, board, and executives.
• Analyzing market dynamics, market share changes, product line performance, and competitive intelligence.

• Collaborating with senior leaders to align strategic goals with overall business objectives.

• Identifying key capital projects, joint ventures, potential M&A targets, and other strategic partnership opportunities.
• Identifying strategic risks.

• Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, such as customers, partners, and industry leaders.
• Providing guidance and direction to teams working on specific strategic initiatives.
• Monitoring the progress of strategic initiatives and adjusting as needed.
• Communicating the organization's strategy to employees, shareholders, and other stakeholders.
• Assessing the effectiveness of the organization's current strategy and making recommendations for improvements.
• Ensuring suitable metrics are in place to measure performance and progress.
• Monitoring execution of business initiatives.
• Executing divestments and divestiture.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Bachelor's degree in business related field or equivalent related experience; Master's degree preferred.
• 3-5 years of progressive experience a similar environment, management consulting, or investment banking. (e.g., operations, business development, etc.)
• Comprehensive knowledge of industry and industry-related trends and forecasts.
• Strategic thinking: the ability to think critically and analytically and to develop long-term plans and strategies for the organization.
• Leadership: able to lead and motivate teams to achieve strategic goals effectively.
• Communication: effectively communicate the organization's strategy to employees, shareholders, and other stakeholders.
• Business acumen: demonstrate a strong understanding of the business landscape and be able to identify opportunities for growth and development.
• Problem-solving: capable of identifying and solving problems as they arise in order to keep the organization on track to achieve its strategic goals.
• Adaptability: able to adapt to changing circumstances and pivot as needed to keep the organization on track.
• Collaboration: able to work effectively with other senior leaders and teams to align strategic goals with overall business objectives.
• Industry expertise: have a deep understanding of the industry in which the organization operates.
