OPPORTUNITY
The Chief Schools Officer will drive academic success and school culture by managing School Principals and the Operations Team. She/he/they will develop the capacity of School Principals and school operations team members to create and implement an equitable and effective school design grounded in an evidence-based academic strategy.
This is a full-time position and the CSO will report to the CEO as a Leadership team member. They will directly manage three key functions: Principal Supervision, School Operations, and Family Experience.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Owning Student Outcomes and Building Instructional Capacity
- Assume personal responsibility for all campuses
- Continuously driving action to meet our long-term academic outcomes for students
- Collaborating with the Learning Team around a strong vision for instructional excellence and associated training
- Ensure school leaders are improving their practice as instructional leaders
- Track student outcomes, diagnose trends, and work
Developing Leadership
- Manage and coach principals
- Develop leadership capacity
- Facilitate professional development
Foster a Diverse, Equitable, and Inclusive Culture
- Build upon and strengthen the network’s commitment to ensuring that all people, regardless of background, feel welcome.
- Ensure campuses are environments where families and students are involved in the community.
- Commit to driving equitable outcomes and experiences for students.
Organizational Leadership
- Drive the development, implementation, and achievement of the network’s vision, mission, strategic plan, annual priorities, and goals.
- Provide input and guidance on all major initiatives.
- Nurture the network’s culture to create a community where all stakeholders feel included, valued, and supported.
- Assess organizational health and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) practices.
QUALIFICATIONS
EXPERIENCE AND RESULTS
- 7+ years experience in K-12 school leadership
- Experience serving scholars who are traditionally underserved in an urban public school or high-performing public charter school setting
- Record of results managing and improving key academic functions
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The base salary range for this position is $125,000-$175,000
