Under administrative direction from the Deputy Director, Real Estate Services Division, is responsible for the management of professional services provided by the Real Estate Services Division including capital outlay, special repairs, architectural, engineering and other design and construction related services, economic analysis and special programs (including seismic, green and sustainable, hazardous materials remediation). The incumbent serves as the State's real Estate Services management expert.

Working Conditions
- This position may be eligible for telework up to three (3) days a week, in accordance with DGS's Telework Policy. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.
- May be required to travel statewide and possibly overnight as needed to conduct State business.
- May be required to work after hours and on weekends based on business needs and workload demands.
- Professional attire required.

Applicants must demonstrate the ability to perform high administrative and policy - influencing functions effectively. Such overall ability requires possession of most of the following more specific knowledge and abilities:
These knowledge and abilities are expected to be obtained from the following kinds of experience with substantial participation in the formulation, operation and/or evaluation of program policies (experience may have been paid or volunteer; in State service, other government settings, or in a private organization):
CEA Level A - Responsible for broad administrative and program activities, including the execution and/or evaluation of program policies.
CEA Level B - Responsible for extensive managerial and program administration or broad program manager experience with substantial participation in the formulation, operation, and/or evaluation of program policies.
CEA Level C - Responsible for extensive highly professional influence and contributes to program, policy, and the methods to provide professional services needed to set policies, to meet the mission of the State department and often exercising technical and or professional skills that are required at this level.

- Experience at the managerial level in leadership of a large, multi functional organization working with professional and administrative staff.

- Experience at the managerial level integrating the activities of a diverse program to attain common goals.
- Experience at the managerial level evaluating Branch and/or Divisional issues, considering overall implications, and developing policy recommendations.
- Experience at the managerial level applying Project Management practices and principles in a highly sensitive political environment.
- Experience at the managerial level in conflict resolution associated with disagreements between and/or among multiple stakeholders at various levels.
- Experience at the managerial level in an organization subject to California and Federal Government laws pertaining to environmental, fire and life safety, and access compliance.
