POSITION SUMMARY
The Chief PhysicianOperations Executive will have significant oversight of the care delivery service for AtlantiCare Health System. With the goal of becoming a more integrated, value-driven organization and providing consumers with a seamless, integrated care continuum, the CPOE will provide leadership, direction and innovative ways for AHS to meet these goals and optimize performance.
The CPOE will help focus and translate the needs of medical center leaders and physicians to align and shape these to system-level goals. The individual will be responsible for the development and implementation of system-wide initiatives and efficiency across AtlantiCare's acute care services including volume growth development as well as expansion of acute care services. They will partner closely with other executives and their teams to support system growth and create a new sense of 'systemness' including further development of the system's ambulatory and post-acute services.
The CPOE must be a talented, system-oriented and experienced clinical leader. This strategic and innovative leader will leverage skills in execution, financial management and business development, gained from experience in a senior leader position within a multi-site health system.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As the strategic and transformational clinical leader for AtlantiCare, the Chief PhysicianOperations Executive will:
  • Provide senior executive oversight and create the AtlantiCare vision and strategic planning for acute care services including clinical services, professional performance, quality and patient safety, medical and clinical education, clinical research, network growth and development.
  • Provide oversight to system-wide clinical and general administrative policies and procedures.
  • Partners with key leaders to design and execute plans for organic and acquisition growth in competitive and/or difficult reimbursement markets.
  • Responsible for the financial performance of assigned entities and business units including meeting revenue targets and managing expenses.
  • Drive next-generation clinical operating performance and innovation in all patient care environments, in collaboration with the Chief People Officer, VP, Quality and CMO's, to deliver top decile results in quality and patient satisfaction.
  • Leverage inpatient care pathways to deliver superior value-based operating, quality and financial results.
  • Lead employed providers and medical staff with integrated unification of standards for professionalism, accountability and care delivery across the enterprise, to deliver superior care coordination and quality results.

IDEAL EXPERIENCE
  • Exceptional interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills. Demonstrated empathy, warmth, and inclusiveness.
  • 10+ years of healthcare senior leadership and demonstrated leadership accomplishments within an integrated health system environment including at least 5 years of experience in medical leadership.
  • Successful track record of restructuring and redesigning systems and aligning talent which resulted in diminished silos and helped improve the performance and characteristics of being a system organization.
  • Background in high performing, measurement-driven organization with a centralized and matrixed structure. Foundation in process improvement to manage organizational improvement and enhancement.
  • Education and board certification. MD or DO, plus advanced administrative course of study, certification, or degree (e.g., MBA or MMM degree).
  • Demonstrates significant and successful medical and administrative experience.
  • Has a thorough understanding of the needs and concerns of employed and private practitioners and a solid working knowledge of hospital and network operations.
  • Strong blend of management skills and technical expertise, demonstrated by superior planning, decision-making, leadership, and financial management skills/knowledge, with a focus on adding value to the bottom line of the business.
  • Proven ability to motivate and inspire people to change, humanely deliver tough messages, and develop leaders.
  • Has built coalitions and facilitated collaborative relationships within and outside the organization; is community minded.
  • Has demonstrated creativity and innovation while being decisive and politically sophisticated. Additionally, experience leading and fostering innovation, either within health care or in a related industry.
  • Has initiated and implemented improvements to patient-care practices within a specific discipline while managing the development and/or delivery of a significant element of the organization's change-management program.
  • Has worked as or closely with thought leaders, overseeing research programs and publishing reports from medical and clinical research.
