Chief of Staff, High Performance Networking Group

This role has been designated as 'Hybrid' with an expectation that you will work on average 2-3 days per week from an HPE office.

Job Description:

The Chief of Staff (CoS) within HPE's High Performance Networking Group is accountable for supporting the VP and General Manager and leadership team, determining & driving a cadence to enable the organization to successfully deliver on its commitments to its stakeholders. At a time of growth and transformation for the HPC business at HPE, this is a critical role, and the individual within it a key member of the leadership team. The successful candidate will coordinate effective communications across internal & external audiences, and facilitate business reviews both within the Business Unit (BU) and across HPC, AI, and Labs leadership team.

Key stakeholders include -Business Unit GM & Functional leaders, HPC Sales Leadership teams, Global Operations, and the HPC leadership team. This role will typically influence across VP & Director level talent.

Responsibilities

Leadership Productivity: Ensure VP/GM is aware of critical issues impacting the Business Unit and to escalate / prioritize time and opportunity to align and address key issues, often acting as a buffer and filter to those escalating concerns. Support email activity on a daily basis and plan ahead on outcomes associated with key meetings, customer engagements, travel & events.

Customers/Regions/Functions Review Readiness: Ensure that all involved parties are ready for the team/ customer/regional/functional business review meetings with materials delivered 48 hours in advance, reviewing the appropriateness of the agenda, meeting intentions and outcomes are clearly understood, and that the most is being made of the meeting/call. Pick up the follow-on actions that do not require the executive's intervention; delegate where possible. Travel as needed global (expectation of 25% on average) to be present with the VP/GM as needed.

Programmatic Oversight: Run meetings- determine the agenda, take note of the actions and follow up to ensure progress is happening. Support the VP/GM on transformation and other/ongoing change management initiatives. Responsible for following through with projects where assigned and managing to closure

Development: Support coaching initiatives where appropriate with feedback to VP/GM on observations regarding areas the executive is concentrating on such as diversity and early career employees.

Ensure Execution: Track decisions and ensure accountability across the organization. Work across functions and teams to ensure effective follow-up and execution. Ensure meetings are effective driving to decisions and actions to enhance the productivity of the team.

Lead 360 Degree Engagement: Work with the communications team on all internal and external activities for the VP/GM driving successful interactions on employee engagement, AR/PR, and social media.

The ideal candidate will be highly capable to:

Define and Drive Process

• Set up and manage key team cadences

• Add structure to meetings and interactions

• Manage the various planning processes for the CPO and the team

Optimize Activities for the Business

• Maximize the organizational impact of time spent by the CPO and team

• Weigh all activities against their business relevance

• Make sure agendas contain only the most critical topics

Coordinate Between the CPO and the Team

• Act as the interface between the CPO and the team; serve as advisor/broker/mediator across the business to facilitate on behalf of the CPO

• Act as valued counsel to the CPO and a trusted advisor to the team

• Become the PoC for the EVP & GM Chief of Staff and provide inputs as needed

• Partner with the Executive Admin to ensure operational excellence

REQUIRED CAPABILITIES:

Education and Experience Required:
Typically 8-12 years total experience. Often 4-7 years post- advanced degree experience leading projects, deals, and company financial improvement initiatives in management consulting, corporate strategy, investment banking, or market research. Advanced university degree (e.g., MBA) or demonstrable equivalent.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Excellent analytical thinking, analysis, and problem-solving skills

• Ability to communicate abstract ideas clearly and independently manage complex project objectives

• Extensive knowledge of and ability to manage statistical analysis and financial modeling.

• Advanced business acumen, technical knowledge within multiple business units, and extensive knowledge in applications and technologies.

• Very strong verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation, presentation, and influence.

• Superior group facilitation, interviewing, and influence skills.

• Excellent project management skills, including project structuring and managing multiple work streams independently.

• Strong relationship management skills, including partnering and consulting.

• Strong leadership skills, including coaching, team-building, conflict resolution, and management.

• Ability to identify and draw on leading-edge analytical tools and techniques to develop creative approaches and new insights into client issues.

• Ability to independently draft and present client deliverables, recommendations, and communications strategies.

Annual Salary: $126,500.00 - $291,000.00
