We are looking for a Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to lead our nursing department at our rehabilitation hospital in Carmel, IN. Indianapolis Rehabilitation Hospital, a 40-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital located at 1260 City Center Drive in Carmel, IN. The hospital is operated by Nobis Rehabilitation Partners and brings approximately 150 jobs to the community across multiple therapy disciplines, rehab nursing, and hospital support team members.
The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) is a member of the Hospital's Senior Leadership Team and is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the overall operations of the Nursing Department while providing leadership, guidance, and direction to all Nursing staff. The role assumes 24/7 responsibility and has accountability to ensure high quality, safe, appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care. The CNO represents nursing concerns on the governing board and at medical staff leadership meetings.
Develops department goals, objectives, standards of performance, policies, and procedures; organizes the department in accordance with administrative guidelines in order to provide specified nursing services to meet the legal, organizational, and medical staff guidelines, works with administration in evaluating proposed procedural changes as they relate to patient care; has the authority and responsibility for establishing, directing the implementation and ensures compliance with Standards of Nursing Practice.
Qualifications Minimum
- Current RN licensure appropriate to state regulations (unrestricted) required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained from the American Heart Association and/or American Red Cross. Online certification is not acceptable.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing.
- Five or more years of experience in an inpatient hospital setting.
- Two or more years of recent (within the last five years) nursing management experience, including responsibilities such as 24-hour accountability, FTE management; policy, procedure and budgetary oversight; and conduction of disciplinary action.
Desired
- Master's degree in nursing or related field OR a written plan to obtain such qualifications approved by the Corporate CNO and the hospital CEO, unless a higher degree is required by the state.
