The Eureka, California market has one of the most unique climates in the country. We forecast and report on everything from wildfires, thunderstorms, snow, ice, sleet, sneaker waves, marine forecasts, fog, air quality, tsunami warnings, hurricanes, and even … dare we say it – sunshine!

We have three unique microclimates, and we are searching for the right Chief Meteorologist to lead our weather coverage on KIEM/KVIQ - Imagicomm Communications.

The perfect candidate isn’t just passionate about weather but also loves telling the weather story. How the weather affects our viewers’ lives.

This is also the chance to build your skills and your resume.

You don’t need previous chief experience to apply.

Responsibilities

• Actively keep our viewers informed about changing weather via television, online, and social media

• Produce graphics that tell a clear weather story

• Deliver accurate forecasts that keep our viewers safe and informed about the weather

• Develop proficiency in our current technology

• Clearly communicate the weather story daily

Requirements:

Must have a degree in Meteorology or successful on-air forecasting experience

Salary: $43,000/annually
