Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital (NVRH) is seeking a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to provide leadership for clinical care, quality, patient safety, and risk management across the institution. As a member of the Senior Leadership team, reporting to the CEO, the CMO guides the development and implementation of medical policies, the practice of medicine, and clinical programs in collaboration with Senior Management. The ideal candidate is a systems-thinker, embraces collaboration and helps drive effective change. This is a part-time position which could be combined with a part-time provider role.
Responsibilities will include:
- Providing clinical oversight for all NVRH providers
- Directly supervise the Director of CRNAs, Medical Directors of the Emergency Department, Hospitalists, Pain Management & Medical Staff Office
- Oversee Quality and Infection control department
- Support evidence-based clinical standards, drive quality initiatives, keep providers and staff up-to-date on regulations, trends, laws, and Conditions of Participation (CoP)
Qualifications:
MD/DO degree with a Vermont medical license and board certification, alongside 10+ years of clinical practice and 5+ years of progressive managerial experience. Advanced degree in business, leadership, or management is advantageous.
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years in progressive leadership and medical practice, with at least 5 years in leadership roles. Demonstrated ability to collaborate within interdisciplinary teams. Senior leadership background is desirable.
