The Hillsboro Club is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Chief Financial Officer to manage and oversee all financial functions and strategies at our prestigious private club. This position will be responsible for supervising the accounting functions, and provide analytical support to the COO/GM, Board of Directors, Business Operations Committee, and other department leaders for planning, budgets, and solution to business opportunities. We are looking for a candidate with previous hospitality experience, excellent organizational and communication skills, to ensure compliance with financial regulations and to contribute to the continued success of our luxury property.
The Club operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, so operational demands require variations in shift days, starting and ending times, and hours worked in a week.
This is a full-time salaried opportunity located in Hillsboro Beach, Florida. The salary for this position will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications and experience. General Requirements:
- Develop and implement financial strategies and plans to support the club's long-term goals and objectives.
- Oversee budgeting, cash flow, and financial reporting processes.
- Manage all financial operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Maintain all accounting records; develop, analyze, and interpret statistical and accounting information.
- Establish major economic objectives and policies for the Club and prepares reports that outline the Club's financial position in the areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and future operations.
- Evaluate and recommend insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities.
- Maintain relationships with financial institutions and manage all banking activities.
- Conduct financial risk assessments and develop risk management plans.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and laws.
- Oversee the annual audit process and liaise with auditors.
- Supervise and mentor the accounting and finance team.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial objectives and processes are aligned with overall club operations.
- Provide timely and accurate financial information to senior management and the Board of Directors.
- Participate in strategic planning and decision-making processes.
- Review and negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors and suppliers.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by senior management.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
- CPA certification strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of financial leadership experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful financial strategies.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to effectively manage a team and collaborate with others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and financial management software.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, as needed.
