Chief Echo Tech (FT Day) - Rahway, NJReq #:0000126997Category:Radiology and ImagingStatus:Full-TimeShift:DayFacility:RWJ RahwayDepartment:Echo / Vascular LabLocation:RWJUH Rahway Hospital, 865 Stone Street, Rahway, NJ 07065Job Summary:+ Primarily performs the functions of a Cardiology Sonographer performing cardiology testing and procedures.+ Provides clinical oversight for sonography staff and clinical/technical advice regarding equipment, ultrasound imagery, and technique.+ Serve as clinical liaison for students in training.+ Adheres to all established hospital policies, provides input to update policies, and is a responsible steward of equipment and supplies.+ Promotes teamwork with all members of the healthcare team.+ Maintains department QA as set forth by ICAEL guidelines and assists in the accomplishment of Medical Center s Quality Improvement objective/goals.+ Obtains echocardiographic studies and assists Cardiologists with procedures.+ Provides recommendations to Medical Director/Admin Director to enhance patient care and department advancement and implements short and long range departmental goals.+ Assumes the leadership role in working towards the laboratory accreditation.+ Verifies employee work hours and payment through the payroll system.Job Requirements:+ Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or Cardiovascular Technology Program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).+ Bachelor of Science degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography is desirable.+ Minimum 5 year of relevant clinical experience in hospital setting.+ Currently active ARDMS or CCI credential.+ BLS certification.+ Successful completion of all orientation programs.+ Demonstrates strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills.Additional Information:For more than 100 years, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Rahway has been the trusted healthcare facility for patients and families in Union County and beyond.
