Chief Auditor

The School Board of Broward County, Florida (SBBC) has launched its national search to identify a qualified individual with visionary leadership and strong administrative skills to serve as the next Chief Auditor. The Chief Auditor will lead the design, implementation, and coordination of the internal auditing function. This charge is to ensure compliance with School District polices, state and federal regulations, and established auditing principles and procedures. 

The School Board is actively engaged in the new search for the Chief Auditor, aiming to finalize the selection by March 2024, considering the current Chief Auditor’s last day is April 11, 2024.

The ideal candidate will possess the following minimum experience:

An earned bachelors from an accredited institution.

A minimum of seven (7) years of progressively more responsible experience and/or training in one or more of the following areas: auditing, budgeting, accounting, preferably in a governmental agency, Florida certificate in public accounting and construction/auditing experience.

Computer Skills as required for the position.

Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) is the sixth-largest school district in the nation and the second-largest in the state of Florida.  BCPS is Florida’s first fully accredited school system since 1962, serving more than 251,000 students and approximately 110,000 adult students in 239 schools, centers, and technical colleges, and 87 charter schools. BCPS supports a diverse student population, representing 177 different countries and speaking 153 languages.

POSITION GOAL

To design, implement and coordinate the District's internal auditing function to assure conformance with School District policies, state and federal regulations, and established auditing principles and procedures. Special emphasis to be placed on the auditing of the District's ongoing facilities construction and maintenance program.
