Job Summary
To operate a functioning stockroom. To support teaching and research activities of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Purchases merchandise. Issues requisitions for items obtainable under State Contract.
- Supervises the maintenance of record, pricing of supplies and billing for goods.
- Supervises stockroom work-study students and staff.
- Receives, inspects, and facilitates delivery of materials to end users.
- Supervises the inventory of supplies in stockroom, prepares reports of stockroom sales and activity.
- Works with EH&S to maintain a database of chemical inventory and provide containers for hazardous chemical waste disposal.
- Refills cryogenic cylinders.
- Other related functions as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Five (5) years of experience in the procurement, storage, issue, and accounting for property, including one year in a supervisory capacity.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school graduation or equivalent.
- Science, preferably chemistry, background.
- Must be highly organized and detail oriented.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to lift at least 50lb, lift and retrieve items above head height, and stand on feet for extended periods of time.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
