GC Chemist
TECH 2000 is currently seeking candidates experienced with Gas Chromatography analysis for two opportunities at client's facility in Pasadena and La Porte, TX.
The ideal candidate would have a Bachelors in Chemistry and 1-5 year's experience in a chemical manufacturing or third party analytical laboratory performing complex GC analyses via ASTM methodology.
Major Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Observe and maintain safety requirements
- Perform laboratory tests in order to produce reliable and precise data to support scientific investigations
- Perform routine & non-routine lab analyses as required
- Routinely operate a variety of standard lab equipment including Titrators, pH meters, densitometers, vacuum pumps, GCs with liquid & gas sample valves, GCs with manual and autosample injection, Total Nitrogen/Sulfur analyzers
Qualifications/Competencies:
- AS Chemical Lab Technology is the minimum education requirement with 3+ years of experience in a chemical manufacturing QA/QC lab environment.
- BS Chemistry or similar science with 1-5 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude demonstrated through the ability to troubleshoot and maintain lab instrumentation.
- Solid math and statistical analysis capabilities - able to read and interpret data and know when to escalate, how to determine issues in production and how to resolve them.
- Computer Skills including Chromatography Data Systems, LIMS, MS Word/Excel/Outlook.
- Knowledge of standardized methodology - ASTM/UOP, etc.
DETAILS
- Shift: 12hr Rotating Schedule (i.e. 4 on 4 off, Dupont, 4/10, or other depending on the location)
- Wage: $25-35/hour
- Location: Pasadena and La Porte, TX area
