Essential Job Functions
Responsible for tracking plant operational performance and providing results and ideas for plant process efficiency improvements.
Supports continuous improvement initiatives through active participation, including identification of efficiency and quality improvements in work processes and problem solving Provide guidance on plant Distributed Control System (DCS) modifications.
Demonstrate and be committed to the pursuit of achieving Zero Harm through behavioral based safety leadership.
Ensure compliance with applicable HSE performance standards, objectives, and regulations.
Lead productivity projects yielding significant reductions in defects/costs and increased productivity.
Responsible for providing technical guidance to Maintenance, HSE, and Operations
Maintain engineering documents and participate in PHAs that execute recommendations to eliminate process safety hazards.
Perform root cause analysis and implement process changes/control plans to drive continuous improvement.
Identify process KPIs and work independently or on a team to reduce process variability and waste through process unit operations optimization.
Work closely with other operational engineers to develop and implement innovative engineering solutions to improve OEE.
Utilize MOC process to manage changes.
Support operations in troubleshooting daily process issues as needed.
Develop new SOPs or update existing ones as needed.
Works closely with the site leadership teams to ensure our business culture is driven by our company values
Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering is required.
5+ years of experience in a chemical plant or refinery across maintenance, engineering, mechanical design, and process design.
Strong knowledge of chemical plant mechanical equipment and processes
Ability to support the Operations team on nights and weekends, as needed, for training, outage work execution and start-up support.
Demonstrated leadership ability to affect change, consistently drive results, and influence all levels of the organization.
Familiarity with Excel, Word, Power Point, Project Management Software, and SAP.
The ability to react with urgency to achieve objectives and deadlines despite obstacles and time pressures.
Strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills
Capable of executing written, oral, or diagram form instructions and able to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
