SUMMARY
The Mixer position is responsible for ensuring that the necessary chemicals are ordered and available when needed. They are responsible for the safe movement and storage of both dry and liquid chemicals received on site. They are responsible to ensure that batches of product are completed as needed to meet production schedule. The Mixer is also responsible for handling hazardous waste which includes disposal of used products into drums, proper labeling of waste drums, documentation of waste drums stored and sent off site as well as communicating with the Environmental Health and Safety Department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Mixing of resins and chemicals to specific recipes to meet production requirements
  • Maintain control of chemical inventory and notify purchasing of potential material shortages.
  • Proper handling and storage of hazardous waste.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of chemical storage and mixing areas.
  • Communication of Environmental, Safety and Quality Issues to appropriate individuals.
  • Communication of product status to all departments as required or requested.
  • Follow all required safety and environmental policies.
REQUIED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • This position requires a minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience with Hazard Communication Training, Forklift Operation, Chemical
  • Handling/Basic RCRA, Respirator Use, and OSHA Hazwoper Training preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
The ability to read, write, and verbally communicate effectively in the English language is required for all roles.
REQUIRED SAFETY EQUIPMENT/TRAINING
AGC follows all required OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standard industry guidelines in-regards to the use of personal protective equipment and safety training required for the specific job function.

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
  • May be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
  • Ability to Stand, walk, sit, use of hands to handle, feel, or grasp objects, tools, or controls.
  • Reach and lift with hands and arms; lift/move/carry objects up to 25 lbs. in weight.
  • Climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, and/or crouch.
  • Ability to talk and hear for safety on the production floor.
  • Visual ability to see things in close vision, distance vison, color vision, peripheral vison, depth perception and ability to adjust focus as needed.
PAY RATE
$20.00+/hr depending on experience
WORK SCHEDULE/OVERTIME
2nd Shift - 5pm-5am
Overtime as required. Business hours.
