We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Intelligence Developer to join our team. This individual will play a crucial role in leveraging data and analytics to drive strategic decision-making and enhance business performance. This position will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and implementation of business intelligence solutions, with a strong focus on Microsoft Power BI, data warehouse management, ETL processes, and statistical data analysis.

What will you do?

  • Design and create interactive and visually appealing dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using Power BI.
  • Connect and integrate data from various sources, such as databases, spreadsheets, and cloud services, into Power BI datasets.
  • Clean, transform, and model data to ensure it is suitable for reporting and analysis.
  • Develop and maintain reports and dashboards that provide valuable insights and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Optimize Power BI reports and queries for performance and responsiveness.
  • Implement security measures to ensure data confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, data engineers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
  • Create and maintain documentation for data models, report specifications, and best practices.
  • Provide training and support to end-users to enable them to effectively use Power BI reports and dashboards.

What will you need?

  • Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Excellent time management skills multitasking is critical.
  • Proven experience as a Power BI Developer for at least 5 years, with a strong portfolio of Power BI projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI, including data modeling, DAX (Data Analysis Expressions), and MQuery.
  • Strong data analysis and visualization skills.
  • Experience with data integration from various sources.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and T-SQL.
  • Familiarity with data governance and security best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality reports and dashboards.

Bonus Points for:

  • Experience working in retail domain.
  • Hands on experience with dbt and Fivetran.

First Year Deliverables (What to expect your first year)

3 months:

  • In-depth understanding of the technology stack used in the organization.
  • Develop personal and professional relationships with the user community.
  • Take ownership of reporting objects to support operational needs.

6 months:

  • Analyze the tactical and strategic business requirements for BI.
  • Be a champion on Power BI and provide training to users to develop ad-hoc reports.
  • Collaborate with business and functional team members to develop business critical reports and visualizations.

12 months:

  • Established and recognized as the in-house expert on BI.
  • Lead future BI development projects and on-going production support.
  • Expert level contribution and guidance with respect to current and future use of BI technologies.
