As a Chemical Engineering Intern you will take ownership of your own projects and explore opportunities within the company that align with your interests and skills onsite at our facility in Berkeley, California. You will work closely with our experienced engineering team to develop cutting edge Direct Air Capture (DAC) technologies and contribute to the development of innovative solutions that address climate change. Pay rate: $25 per hour

Please Note-due to the requirements of our federal contracts, we can only hire a U.S. Citizen for this role.

What You'll Do Here

  • Work hands-on in a deliverables-focused environment collaborating with experienced engineers in multiple functions-you will get real world experience in our state of the art facility in Berkeley, California
  • Design, simulate and engineer novel process systems in the carbon capture space
  • Prepare PFDs and P&ID's, including control loops
  • Evaluate processes and equipment to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations
  • Conduct laboratory procedures and system testing including purity, absorption, desorption and other analyses essential to developing DAC technology 
  • Generate, capture, analyze and report technical data related to CO2 capture technologies

Your Skills and Abilities Include

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering, or similar area of study with at least 3 years of college coursework completed
  • Related work experience (paid or unpaid) preferred-All of your work experience is interesting to us-please include part time jobs, summer jobs, work/study, entrepreneurial endeavors, and volunteer work on your resume
  • Experience with process modeling software (Aspen+ preferred)
  • Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD preferred)
  • Experience working in a lab environment, including preparing, conducting and documenting tests

This position requires physical activities including climbing stairs or ladders, stooping, crouching to work on equipment, operating machinery and lifting and carrying loads of 40 lbs or more.
