Job Summary

The Chef Trainer is responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously enhancing culinary training. Using expertise to contribute to the development of comprehensive hands-on courses and demonstrations that cover various culinary techniques, cuisines, and industry trends. The goal is to provide a culinary team with well-rounded skills, knowledge, and processes that prepare them for success.
This position will interact on a regular basis with: Culinary employees within Tech Dining
This position typically will advise and counsel: Culinary employees
This position will supervise: Assigned Staff

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Design and develop culinary training programs and courses that align with industry standards and educational objectives
Job Duty 9 -
Maintains training documents and records
Job Duty 10 -
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Job Duty 2 -
Conduct culinary classes, demonstrations, and hands on training sessions for culinary team
Job Duty 3 -
Create and adapt recipes to be used in training programs considering diverse cuisines, dietary restrictions, and nutritional aspects
Job Duty 4 -
Collaborate with other culinary professionals to plan execute menus for dining facilities or events
Job Duty 5 -
Supervise and mentor culinary staff
Job Duty 6 -
Keep abreast of current culinary trends and industry developments
Job Duty 7 -
Assist with inventory management
Job Duty 8 -
Performs as a working chef when needed

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Technical Diploma, Associate Degree, or two years college course work, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Other Required Qualifications
CERTIFICATION, LICENSE, or PERMITS:
o ServSafe Food Protection Manager
o ServSafe Allergen Awareness
o Certificate of Supervising, Management, or Training (Instructor)
o Valid Driver's License
Required Experience
Two or more years of job-related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Technical Diploma, Associate's Degree, or two years college course work in the Culinary Arts or related programs.

Proposed Salary

Salary Range: 55,436.00 - 95,351.00 (based on experience)

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

KNOWLEDGE
Must be proficient with computer applications and programs (i.e. Microsoft Office suite) and knowledge of all Microsoft Platforms.
SKILLS
o Ability to facilitate culinary and food service training; ability to conduct food safety training;
ability to develop cost-efficient menus; ability to articulate the student dietary needs to the culinary
team; ability to articulate staff training needs, ability to prepare meals properly
o This position involves physical activity and the ability to lift, push, or pull objects weighing up to 50
pounds or more
