Job Description

The Princess Feet Cheer Coach is responsible for coaching student athletes in cheerleading techniques to prepare them for events and/or competition. Position motivates student athletes to develop an appreciation of the sport. The Coach is responsible for supervising the team at games, camp and any other activity where the team cheers. Must have extensive training and experience in cheerleading and choreography. Requires excellent communication, managerial, and planning skills. This is a classified part-time/Seasonal position.

Essential Duties

• Organize and run effective warm up, practices.

• Attends tryouts, practices, competitions, and cheer camp.

• Assesses skills and assigns team positions.

• Create, clean, and/or teach routines.

• Coaches and instructs cheerleaders, individually or in groups, regarding the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of

the sport.

• Observes cheerleaders, during events and practice, to determine the needs for individual or team improvement.

• Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior and provides proper supervision and discipline of students at all times.

• Has current CPR and first aid certification.

• Follows established procedures in the event of an injury.

• Conferences with the Athletic Director and parents/guardians, as necessary, regarding the performance of and/or disciplinary

actions taken with students.

• Models positive sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards cheerleaders, officials, and spectators.

• Promotes a spirit of cooperation and friendship between the cheerleaders and the dance team.

• Keep on hand eligibility forms, emergency data cards, insurance records, equipment inventory, and other related records as

provided by the Athletic Director.

• Models nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.

• Encourage cheerleaders to participate in other campus events and service projects.

• Help plan and facilitate group and morale-building activities for the team.

• Performs any other related duties as assigned by the Athletic Director or other appropriate administrators.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required . Experience as a competitive or Non - competitive cheerleading coach at the high school or college level preferred. Must possess effective coaching techniques and skills related to cheers, cheer-dance, stunting, and choreography. Must possess a thorough knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport. Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with advisor, school administrators, parents, and students.

Pay $20-25 an hour.

Princess Feet Dance Academy is an organization dedicated to incorporating dance and other forms of performing art as inspirational tools for inner city youth. Our dance classes teach Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical and cheer for Ages 3 - 12 Grade
Who we are looking for:
Exciting, bubbly, child friendly dance instructors committed to a career in the field of performing arts or education, loves children and being an active part of the inner-city. You should be seeking degrees in dance, music, theater, child development or any other form of the arts or art related disciplines or have a previous background in dance. Speaking Spanish is a plus! You must be at least 18 years old.
Summary:
Looking for instructors available to teach at our After School Sites,
General Responsibilities:
Teach dance classes at various sites/dance studios.
Assist other instructors with coaching and teaching children.
Recruit students for dance classes.
Plan and execute lesson plans.
Set up for classes, training promotions, special events.
Represent Princess Feet Dance at parades, promotions and other requested appearances.
Public Relations, client relations.
Promotions and event planning for dance recitals and special events.
Qualifications
A college degree or currently attending college in performing arts.
Background in dance.
Demonstrated ability to work well with K-12 youth.
Commitment to education.
Compensation:
Employment Status: Contract independent Contractor
Period of Contract: 1 full School year.
Hours: varies
Compensation: $20-$25per class,-No benefits.
