Reporting to: Freight Services Manager
Wage Range: $31.25 - $32.00 per hour
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Fleet Equipment Coordinator and associated duties.
  • Monitor and control all chassis equipment levels in GSC and customer yards.
  • Ensure all chassis are in service or in the process of.
  • Manage repair vendors for timely repair and accurate billing.
  • Coordinate vendors for repairs, maintenance, and annual federal inspections.
  • Perform pre-trip inspections and identify issues.
  • Manage and own the DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report) process.
  • Audit chassis daily to confirm DVIRs associated with the chassis are in good standing.
  • Update Omni-view and maintain accurate records of all inspections and repairs.
  • Communicate with Freight Services regarding equipment requirements and inquiries.
  • Respond to all DVIRs within 24 hours to ensure a high level of service.
  • Conduct twice-weekly audits to ensure all equipment is accounted for, monitoring the BI tool daily.
  • Keep accurate notes in Omni-view for any chassis-related issues and solutions.
  • Manage and control costs.
  • Keep all paperwork (DVIRs, invoices, annual federal inspections, registration, and chassis lease documents) associated with each chassis updated in Docuware.
  • Effectively communicate company policy and procedures.
  • Respond to emails in a timely manner.
  • Solve workplace challenges or conflicts.
  • Collaborate on department goals and targets with the PNW team.
  • Communicate updates and status reports to upper Management and Executives.
  • Conduct one-on-one and team meetings.
  • Manage and maintain all GSC Transport yard facilities.
  • Conduct on-site management of our contracted yards.
  • Manage daily yard checks.
  • Coordinate with in-house vendors and identify and develop new vendor opportunities.

Qualifications:
  • Experience in the Transportation Industry.
  • Proficient in Transportation Management Systems (Trinium preferred).
  • Accurately keystrokes a minimum of 65 words per minute.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Commitment to excellence and ambitious standards.
  • Strong organizational skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Acute attention to detail.
  • Experience in equipment management.
  • Two years of experience in tactical roles within logistics.
  • Proficiency in at least one TMS (Transportation Management System) ("Trinium" preferred).
  • Extreme attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities while balancing daily tasks.
  • Self-starter and assertive in bringing issues to management.
  • Proficient in Excel and possess good computer skills.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to:
    • Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Understand and respond to a diverse population.
    • Occasionally travel as needed to various company sites and Port facilities.
    • Ability to work on your feet, traveling to company yards to access equipment.
