CHASE High Outdoor Custodian - Full Time with Benefits

NATURE OF WORK:
An employee hired for this position performs a variety of manual work duties daily to assist in keeping the location clean and maintained. Primary duties will be outdoor building & grounds. The employee also would be responsible for performing recurring tasks in accordance with established practices and maintenance schedules. If a problem or issue arises, this employee will assist the direct supervisor or administrator. Supervision is direct with frequent inspections to assure completion of assignments in accordance with instructions given and standards of cleanliness.
SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS:

• Operating motorized outdoor equiptment including but not limited to mowers, trimmers, hedge clippers, blowers, and sprayers.
• Performing regular equiptment maintenance and keeping accurate records of maintenance.
• Inspecting and maintaining landscapes, hardscapes, and outdoor lighting on campus.
• Performing weed management in and around mulch beds and sidewalks.
• Preparing outdoor facilties for athletic and other outdoor school events.
• Assisting coaching staff and athletic director in turf management of athletic fields.
• Other seasonal outdoor activities including pruning, edging, and leaf removal.
• Cleaning practices that include but are not limited to; sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, waxing, polishing floors, dusting, etc.
• Assisting in moving or arranging furniture
• Washing windows, walls, or other surfaces as needed.
• Replenishes tissue, towels, and soap in restrooms, kitchens, and classroom facilities.
• Empties waste baskets and other trash receptacles.
• Locks and unlocks doors as needed.
• Sorts/stores materials for recycling programs.
• Reports to supervisor any damages or needed repairs.
• Keeps location clear of litter of any kind.
• Assist in controlling the heating and air equipment at location.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES NEEDED:

• Ability to follow simple oral and written directions.
• Some skill in the use of small equipment used in routine cleaning.
• Some knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
• Some knowledge and skill in repairs of building, grounds, and outdoor equipment.
