POSITION SUMMARY
We have an exciting opportunity to join our finance team as a Charge Caputure Analyst. This role will support the Cardiac Catheterization Lab.
The Charge Capture Analyst is responsible for daily Charge Capture and reconciliation processes, procedural coding, maintenance of the charge master as well as establishing procedural and supply charges. Incumbent must utilize clinical and coding knowledge to ensure accurate and compliant charge items and to recognize and resolve billing inconsistencies, must analyze contents of report and software edits to facilitate appropriate revisions and review reports and nurses notes to determine appropriate charges and complete necessary follow up. The incumbent must possess strong critical thinking skills and clinical knowledge of procedures in order to effectively achieve the position specific functions. They also must adhere to policies, procedures and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.
Responsibilities- Utilizes clinical and coding knowledge to ensure accurate and compliant charge items and to recognize and resolve billing inconsistencies.
- Analyzes contents of report and software edits to facilitate appropriate revisions.
- Reviews reports and nurses notes to determine appropriate charges and follows up with staff and physicians on missing documentation.
- Demonstrates attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of the Charge Capture process.
- Reconciles daily reports compared to actual charges, codes and documentation.
- Takes ownership of assignments; other duties as assigned or requested.
- Communicates and listens effectively with internal and external customers; effectively understands instructions and shares knowledge.
- Cooperates and interacts with superiors, peers, other departments, and all customer groups demonstrating our commitment to "service".
- Generates and provides data and reports for assigned projects.
- Prepares, maintains, tracks and oversees a variety of files, reports and records to ensure accuracy.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree preferred
- Previous Charge capture experience preferred, medical terminology required
Technical/Formal Training:
- Microsoft Excel/Access
