Join GameSim, a premier game development company offering comprehensive title and co-development services for Console, Desktop, Mobile, and Web-based Games. We're on the lookout for a talented Character Artist to become part of our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in creating engaging, believable characters that resonate with our audience and meet the technical demands of modern game development.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team to conceptualize and create compelling game characters.
  • Create characters based on concept art or reference photos.
  • Create both high resolution 3D sculpts and final low polygon game assets.
  • Utilize cutting-edge tools and software for character modeling, texturing, and rigging.
  • Ensure characters align with the game's aesthetic and narrative, while also meeting technical requirements.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in character design and game development.
  • Proactively address and solve artistic and technical challenges in partnership with other team members.
  • Participate in regular reviews, with the ability to give and take constructive feedback.
  • Aid in the development and refinement of character design processes and best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Animation, Game Design, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in character art creation within the gaming industry.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling and texturing tools such as Maya, Zbrush, Marvelous Designer and Substance Painter.
  • Experience in managing content and developing pipelines.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing a range of character designs, emphasizing both realistic and stylized approaches.
  • Excellent understanding of anatomy, clothing, and character design.
  • Familiarity with game engines such as Unreal Engine or Unity.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills, capable of working collaboratively with a diverse team.
  • Ability to adapt to various artistic styles and software as required by different projects.
  • Located in Florida or Texas, with the possibility of remote work for outstanding applicants.
